Brilliant Beaujolais Evening

Just to let you know that our Beaujolais Nouveau Evening was a real success

and our grateful thanks go to Keith and Margaret Templeton for the thought and effort

that that went into providing such a great combination of food and wine.

We enjoyed the novelty of the Beaujolais Nouveau but were then able to follow it with

four more Gamay based wines of increasing quality, including an excellent Brouilly, most

people’s first choice, and the star of the evening for several of us, a Côte Roannaise,

‘éclat de Granit’.  All paired with an excellent selection of pâté, meats and cheeses.

Keith’s knowledgeable and, as usual, highly individual presentation brought the wines

and the areas alive for us and highlighted links to Cours La Ville.

We don’t usually have a raffle at events such as this but Children in Need evening could

not be allowed to go unsupported.  I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that thanks to the

generosity of members our simple raffle raised £200 which will be sent as a donation

from the members of Winslow Anglo French Twinning Association.

It was a great evening and many thanks to all who attended and everyone who helped

with the set-up and with the washing up!
